The Cadence Collective

Hello everyone, It's been a couple days. Our last update up here was ... rather a hysterical rambling mess. Sorry about that. We'll leave it up, because it's part of the archive now, and we don't believe in deleting stuff for no real reason, but just know, if you read that it's a bit of a mess. We did manage to get rent paid, but really need to find a stable job of some variety. Even if that job is just customer service, at this point I need to be bringing in money of some variety. We still have to pay the internet, and they've tacked on a late fee. We were supposed to have it, but since we had to use cashapp loans to get medicine earlier in the month, they took z's entire paycheck and applied it back to the loan balance and won't give it back. So all the funding we were supposed to have for survival just ... doesn't exist now.

Mastodon Updates

We did manage to find a new mastodon home, though it's the big mastodon.social instance, unfortunately or fortunately depending on how one looks at it. Fortunately because there's a possibility that my reach may go up and I may be able to get my posts around more reliably. Unfortunately because the whole point of the fediverse is decentralization ... I just looked at the user count on this instance. 3020540 users on one instance isn't really all that decentralized. But to be completely point blank honest, we got tired of moving our stuff from small instance to small instance because the little instances kept going down. Once got frustrated about having to move for the 3rd time in 6 months, and got screamed at because, and I quote, mastodon is ever changing, if you don't like moving instances to keep up with the times, go back to twitter. Um ... no thanks. Yes, mastodon is ever changing. Doesn't mean people should have to move instances every 3 months. But that's done with, and part of me is glad we're on the big instance. It's been up since 2018 at least.

What's next?

Right now, we're just trying to get some cash together to survive. We will possibly get on youtube and make a livestream, if we can get our stress reactions to a manageable level because trying to stream while stress hormones make mush out of your soul really doesn't work. Might do so anyway ... play some hearthstone for you guys or ... I don't know, get out the video game controller and pull up forza for a bit. Thought about singing on livestream, but A, I'm really self-conscious, and B, if I did that I'd have to get the setup just right or you'd have instrumental playing at one time and my voice like 3 seconds after. I know it can be done, we've seen the hackerlink vods on youtube. For those of you who don't know, hackerlink is this girl (she probably has a different name but the name on the page is hackerlink) she sings random songs on her stream and it's rather neat to watch. A bit confusing because she keeps calling random things “sick pranks”, but her voice is pretty so I ignore the confusing bits and pay attention to the music. She was introduced to us by a friend who also enjoys music, but we're leaving their name out of this because we haven't been given permission to post about them and posting about people without their permission is quite rude. I think we've said all that there is to be said today. We'll probably be back with another one of these tomorrow or in a few days, and will try to get on youtube for you before then.
