Update, 08/15/2026
It's been approximately 2 months, if I'm calculating right, since I last updated this thing. I regret that, but I'll try and do a deep dive, for those who are curious about my life for whatever reason.
End of June
For the last few days of June, we packed everything we could down. Truth be told though, Z's family did most of the work. I call them his family for simplicity reasons, but really it's a lot more complicated than that. I see that more than ever now, and most days I barely have the mental bandwidth to say sincerely, “Fuck this, I have no energy.” Tonight is a different night ... I think there will be a lot of those, but I'm tangenting hardcore now ... it happens a lot nowadays. We talked to Z's family over the course of that time, and were told how to pack things to best move into the house. It was planned out a few days after I wrote my last blog post ... but as I predicted in that post I couldn't find the time to type. And yes, I had a keyboard on my phone, but it was the BSI keyboard and for long posts, that shit hurts my fingers.
July
We moved into the family house in early July, after some back and forth madness about where we would stay, how we would get there, etc etc, so on and so forth. Most of what we own is in storage ... all the bins we packed, all the bags ... I only have the computer because I annoyed Z's mother by asking where it was a million times. And I really only did that because I needed to have ... something. We met the kids ... I feel like I'm in a bad sitcom. Z's mother is retrying her hand at parenting. I don't think that's how that works, but sure we'll go with it.
Early August
Z decided, now that we were somewhat settled, to go on a trip. I don't blame him, he's been going for the better part of 7 years helping various people. So he's currently on a trip, has been for a while now. Once he was gone the house dynamic changed ... Z's mother decided to spring some who is she profile test on me and then send me homework. If you all follow my main mastodon, you probably heard about this a week or two ago. She's also a wee bit ... micromanager-esque, and likes to tell people how they'll do various things, even things that don't involve her. It's ... quite ... annoying isn't quite strong enough but it'll have to do.
Now
We stay in a living room. Z's currently on a trip but would like to get back quickly due to needing more medication. The living room is a bit of a pain to be staying in, as demonstrated by the current happenings. As I write this, a baby cries in the next room. I'm quite literally in the central area, typing on a mechanical keyboard and feeling ... absolutely no remorse.
Why am I such an asshole?
Fair question, writing fingers. The reason I'm such an asshole in this particular situation is because A, I haven't been asked nicely to switch to the laptop keyboard at night, and B, this woman did this to herself. She could have had the office cleared out over the course of a couple weeks before we got here, so we wouldn't be staying in a living room. That's where we were originally supposed to sleep. We were to move in, and the office would be cleared out so we could move ourselves in there and have some privacy. Instead of doing that, this woman outright admits, she doesn't want to have us in the private office because, and I quote, “You two would hide in that room too much.” Maybe we would ... but isn't that a basic human right? I guess ... not in this house.
Nothing is a right here.
At least if you're a child. For adults it's slightly (keyword slightly) more lax. But if you're a child, you better prepare for the Iron man competition if you've done something bad. Oh, but don't you dare call it punishment, it's not punishment. It's just a preparation for a fictitious competition or a sport as a consequence for something bad you've done, and that's most definitely not. a punishment. (For context, preparing for the iron man or preparing for soccer is social services friendly code phraseology for chair squats.) It can't be framed as a punishment, even if it is. It can't be framed as something that isn't fun, even if it most definitely is. Yeah, remember earlier when I told you Z's mother's rerunning motherhood like the worst ever bad sitcom? This what I mean. It's absolute madness most days. 3 kids, sometimes 4, and none of them really know manners. It's sad actually. But it's what I have to work with right now.
