Update, 06/30/2024
Hello everyone, It's been quite a while since we wrote last ... and we apologize for that. We do try to be consistent, but lots of crazy and chaotic things happen ... life isn't necessarily meant to always have a structure. If you're always trying to make structures out of everything, then eventually you will have no time to relax. During the month of April, when we wrote a lot more, we found that we kept getting stressed out. So we'll try a new way of consistency. There may not always be daily updates, but we will try to do at least one a week, which gives us more time to not stress about the deadline. We've found that if we're stressed about a writing deadline, the page suddenly turns into a black hole ... a blank page with no inspiration. Recently, things have been relatively stable for us, one of the housemates was able to get a new computer, which they really needed because theirs was becoming hazardous to use. As we figure out how to life more and more, we've found more time to play our video games, which we quite enjoy. Our top ones currently are Forza Motorsport 7, Mortal Kombat 1, and Diablo 4. We're still struggling with Diablo, but that is to be expected with open-world games who are trying to work out more accessibility options. We'd have to say our favorite is Forza, it's quite enjoyable to play, to upgrade the cars, to race the career mode races ... free play is also quite enjoyable. On that note, we should probably do a stream sometime in the near future ... though we may switch to youtube because theoretically the videos would remain around longer, allowing more people to watch if they missed the streams themselves. On twitch, the videos only remain for 14 days unless you pay a subscription of some variety, and even then they'd only stay for 60 days. We've also found time to read our favorite series, Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, once again, because it's just that good. Sound Booth Theater, the people who record the audio versions of the DCC series, have also made what they're calling an audio immersion tunnel. The tunnel thing is a reference to the book series, we won't post spoilers. He is currently working on book 7, and let me just say, that though it's a bit ... fucked up, it's positively awesome as well. If you want to get a preview of the chapters for book 7, along with some other fun stuff, check out Matt Dinniman's Patreon where he posts updates. If you use reddit, there is also a dungeon crawler Carl subreddit, full of all kinds of theories, fan discussions ... it's basically a Crawl Con in forum form and with less killing people. What is Crawl Con? Read the already released books on sound booth theater. Check out Book 1 here. Jeff Hays is truly an excellent narrator. Now that we've accidentally ... sort of ... tangented off into a promo paragraph, (sorry about that but we really love the books), let's see what else there is to talk about. I think the highlight of this month was the 4-day power outage. I still don't know how, but one of our housemates somehow managed to post on mastodon semiregularly throughout the entire thing. We personally weren't worried about social media at the time ... we didn't have enough energy ... but then I guess everyone has their own way of coping, and if that's theirs, who am I to judge? On a much brighter note, we recently cleaned the house within an inch of its life, and then Z made spaghetti, which was wonderful. I think we've mentioned Z before ... if not on here, definitely on Fedi. We also have a guest with us. For the sake of confidentiality, we will not say who or give a gender, but this person is wonderful to hang around, nice to talk to ... and seems to know a fair bit about a fair few things. So far, despite our odd associations with new people for ... reasons, the visit is going well. I think that's all we have to write about ... if we end up having something to say soonish we'll write it here. The blog gives us more characters to work with, so we may switch to predominantly posting here just for the sake of being able to say more. Because words make sentences and sentences sometimes make neat paragraphs. Not sure where that last bit came from but there you go.
