ACIM – I Rest in God
Lesson 185 of A Course in Miracles, or ACIM, describes the power and freedom of the idea that “I rest in God.” This rest remains undisturbed by storms. It heals suffering and looks past the world's appearance of sin to a forgiven world.
Repeating this idea for five minutes each hour has the incredible power to call every mind to rest along with you (see 2:5 and 8). It is not just for you. The Day of Peace
Each year on 21 September people from around the world celebrate the International Day of Peace. This important global observance was established in 1981 by a United Nations General Assembly resolution and is designed to strengthen the ideals of peace. It also aims to promote peace and to establish 24 hours of global cease-fire and non-violence for groups in active conflict.
The theme of this year’s observance is “Peace in our lifetime.” The United Nations has chosen this theme to highlight the urgent need for a more peaceful and sustainable future. It is a call to action for individuals, communities and countries to make real commitments towards peace.
Individuals, communities, organizations and schools take part in a variety of activities to mark the Day of Peace. They may focus on a particular issue of peace that is important to them or they can create their own activity. This can be anything from organizing a peace walk or rally to hosting a dinner that brings together different cultures or faiths.
Other ways to mark the Day of Peace include holding a 'global potluck' where everyone brings dishes from their home country or culture to share with others. This is a great way to learn more about different cultures and to build international connections that foster peace.
In addition, the Day of Peace can be a time to meditate and to pray for peace. It is a good opportunity to reflect on the work that Jesus Christ, Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr did in their efforts to promote peace.
Throughout the day, practice sinking into the stillness that comes with the line “I rest in God.” Let this thought carry you through all storms and strife. There is no pain it cannot heal, and no appearance it can turn into truth before your eyes. Invite all brothers, distant and near, into this rest of yours, into the holy temple within you where they can join their rest with yours. In doing so, their rest will deepen and complete yours. And together, in this unity of peace, they will be able to carry the message of peace to the entire world. acim The Day of Hope
The Day of Hope is observed on the first Wednesday of April each year. It is celebrated during National Child Abuse Prevention Month to encourage everyone to work together in the fight against child abuse and neglect. It also reminds people that all children are lovable and worthy of our love and care. This is a time to remember all the children who are suffering from abuse, whether it be physical or verbal, assault, injury, violation, or even rape.
It is important to have a positive outlook on life in order to maintain a healthy state of mind. In the case of mental illness, it is recommended to seek help from a specialist. However, the most important thing is to have hope in your mind, and that is why the Day of Hope was created. It is a day to celebrate the power of positive thinking, and to show that it is indeed a teachable skill.
In honor of this day, it is suggested that you meditate on the mantra “I rest in God.” Repeat this mantra over and over again until you can achieve a complete stillness of body and mind. This will allow you to find a peace that is unaffected by the storms of life and will bring you to a place where nothing can dismay you. You will be able to pass through storms and strife, past misery and pain, and even death without any fear or anxiety. The Day of Love
Love is a friend that holds your hand through all the storms of life. It is trust and loyalty, quiet understanding and mutual confidence, giving and forgiving, sharing and making allowances for human weaknesses.
In China, the 7th day of the seventh lunar month (Qixi Festival) is celebrated as the Chinese Day of Love, honoring the story of a herder and a weaver girl who fell in love and got married. In Wales, January 25 is the Day of Saint Dwynwen, patron saint of lovers, when men traditionally gifted their women with intricately carved wooden love spoons.
Global Love Day was started by the founders of the Love Foundation in an effort to bring unconditional love back into the common vision that people have of the world around them. They have been holding this event since 2007, and it has had an incredible effect on the lives of people all over the globe.
