A Course in Miracles is an acclaimed spiritual guide that offers a complete curriculum for spiritual transformation and peace. Its teachings are based on the experience of forgiveness, which can shift our perception away from fear and into love. It teaches that healing and holiness are possible by undoing guilt and releasing resistance to love, thus reintegrating the personality and reconnecting it with God. Originally published in 1975, the life-changing teachings of this course are available in over two million English language copies, and have been translated into many other languages.

This Combined Volume includes the Text, Workbook for Students, Manual for Teachers, and Supplements to A Course in Miracles. It is the only edition authorized by the Course's Scribe, Dr. Helen Schucman, and published solely by the Foundation for Inner Peace. The original work was completed in 1975 and, since that time, the Foundation has served as its publisher, disseminator, and copyright holder.

The 'Text' of A Course in Miracles contains the Course's teachings, which are divided into 365 lessons that focus on the practice of forgiveness. These lessons are designed to change the perception of the world and our relationships. The workbook consists of daily readings, reflections, and exercises designed to reinforce the teachings. The 'Manual for Teachers' is written in question-and-answer form and provides answers to some of the questions that can be expected to arise during studying the course. It also clarifies a number of terms used throughout the workbook and text.

The 'Supplements to A Course in Miracles' consist of two extensions of the Course principles: Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process and Practice and The Song of Prayer. These chapters were added after the completion of the Course and are not included in other editions of the work. This audio version features Jim Stewart narrating the first three volumes, and Brad Cahill narrating the fourth. The first five chapters of the text, however, differ from the FIP edition in their wording and order. This is to accommodate listeners who are using both the HLC and the FIP versions and would like to follow their progress in parallel. Workbook for Students

As the name suggests, this self-study spiritual thought system teaches that love is the way to universal peace and happiness. It emphasizes that forgiveness is essential to changing our perceptions and thus overcoming fear. It also teaches that we must remember God (or Love) at all times. This acclaimed guide teaches that shifts in awareness lead to miracles – changes of perception that heal relationships and make them holy. It is expressed in the language of traditional Christianity but constitutes non-sectarian, universal spiritual teachings. Over 2-million English-language copies have sold worldwide.

A Course in Miracles is a self-study curriculum composed of three books: the 669-page Text, the 478-page Workbook for Students, and the 88-page Manual for Teachers. The order in which a student chooses to use these volumes depends on his or her needs and preferences.

The first five chapters of the Text are different from both the HLC and FIP versions of the book, making it impossible to match these sections with the appropriate pages in the Workbook for Students or Manual for Teachers. However, from the sixth chapter of the Text onwards, we have been able to provide the HLC text within the framework of the FIP chapters, titles, and divisions. We hope that this will allow students to study with those who are using the FIP version of the textbook and still follow the same text as they read through the HLC sections. Manual for Teachers

A Course in Miracles is a self-study spiritual thought system that uses forgiveness as the way to universal love and peace, or remembering God. The Course consists of three volumes: Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers.

The first volume, the Text, explains the theory behind the course's teachings. The second volume, the Workbook, contains 365 daily lessons that are intended to change your perception of reality. The third volume, the Manual for Teachers, focuses on how to guide the student through the course.

The question-and-answer format of the Manual provides responses to the questions that might be raised by the students and includes clarification of a number of terms that appear throughout the Course. In addition, the Manual is designed to help teachers teach the Course effectively.

When I began studying A Course in Miracles, I was surprised to discover that the Manual for Teachers also includes a discussion of the role of the teacher in relationship to his or her pupils. It depicts the teacher as a faith healer, or more precisely, a healing healer of the mind. Moreover, it suggests that the teacher should offer his or her pupils verbal teachings that reflect Course principles (Manual, p. 67; M-29.1:3).

I was confused by this concept, for it seemed to contradict the message that the Course itself teaches. The Course is a college course, and it has modelled its first two volumes after educational courses. In a college course you have a textbook that sets out the curriculum, a workbook that makes the student proficient in the material set forth in the textbook, and a manual for teachers that instructs the instructor in how to guide the students through the curriculum.

The only complete edition of A Course in Miracles authorized by its Scribe, Helen Schucman, to be published is the Combined Volume of A Course in Miracles, which includes the Text, Workbook for Students, and the Manual for Teachers. It is available in English, as well as in translations from other languages. The Combined Volume also contains the Supplements to A Course in Miracles, Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process, and Practice and The Song of Prayer, which extend the principles taught in the main body of the course. Supplements

A Course in Miracles is a self-study spiritual thought system that teaches how to undo guilt through forgiving others, healing relationships and making them holy. Its language is that of traditional Christianity, but it expresses a non-sectarian, non-denominational spirituality. It has more than 2-million English language copies in print. It is used by students in thousands of Course study groups around the world.

This Combined Edition includes all three of the volumes that A Course in Miracles’ Scribe, Helen Schucman, authorized for publication: the Text, Workbook and Manual for Teachers. It also includes two valuable Supplements to the Course, Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process and Practice and The Song of Prayer.

The Supplements to A Course in Miracles broaden and enrich the Course’s content. They contain the earliest writings on forgiveness, true perception and the holy instant and extend its teachings into areas of depth psychology and mysticism. They also clarify the meaning of many terms in the course, and they provide important answers to questions that students might have about the course.

These supplements also show how the course applies to all of life, not just in the therapeutic area. They teach that the most fundamental goal of the healing process is to heal our beliefs in separation. This is not a process that occurs immediately, but one that takes time and patience. This is especially true of the psychological healing that the Course encourages its readers to pursue.

Another significant element of the Course’s view on healing is that it places a much greater emphasis on mental and interpersonal healing than physical healing. This is a crucial shift in the way we typically view spiritual healing. In our conventional views of healing, we tend to think of a spiritual healer as channeling some kind of energy into the patient’s body and this energy doing the actual healing. The Course, however, teaches that the real healing is done by the transfer of true perception from the giver’s mind to the receiver’s.

In fact, the Course says that “unless you believe that healing is done by God, it cannot happen.” (Text, p. 5) It is the miracle worker’s ability to transfer this new, loving perception of their brother that enables him to receive the healing of his belief in separation.
