Can Fenbendazole Be Used As A Cancer Treatment?

There is no proof that fenbendazole can cure cancer. The drug has not been tested in clinical trials and has not been approved by the FDA for use against cancer.

In laboratory tests, fenbendazole has been shown to disrupt microtubules and cause cell death in cancer cells. The drug is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole antiparasitic agent that is used in numerous animal species as a veterinary parasite medication. The fact that it can also reduce the occurrence of hepatitis in pigs shows its safety in vivo (in living animals).

It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and promote apoptosis in human lung cancer cells with a wild type KRAS mutation. Dogra et al [4] showed that when mice were given 1 mg/mouse fenbendazole every second day for 12 days their tumours reduced in size and weight.

A study by Zhang et al [5] found that mebendazole, another benzimidazole antiparasitic medication similar to fenbendazole, can reduce the proliferation of triple negative breast cancer cells in vitro. This is achieved by a combination of inhibition of tubulin polymerization and inhibition of the cyclin B1/CDK1-dependent mitotic progression.

A lot of the case reports on the substack involving fenbendazole eradicating cancer have occurred after traditional treatment has failed, such as radiation therapy. It is possible that those cases show how fenbendazole acts to eradicate the cancer stem cells/refractory clones which can develop when traditional therapies fail. It is also possible that fenbendazole potentiates or synergizes with those treatments making them more effective!fenbendazole cancer treatment
